"The definitive international textbook for community interpreting, this work by five authors from five different countries offers a special focus on medical interpreting. Intended for use in universities, colleges and basic training programs, the textbook can be used anywhere in the world and offers clear guidance based on up-to-date research on most of the biggest challenges in the field today."
Congratulations to
Marjory A. Bancroft, Sofia Garcia Beyaert, Katharine Allen, Giovanna Carriero-Contreras and Denis Socarras-Estrada for creating this fantastic resource.

A special Thanks to our French Conference Interpreter André Moreau for supporting us in arranging the French teams for the Ontario Government Conference on Sexual Harassment and Abuse. André and Wendy Greene were our Chief Conference Interpreters who worked with 24 outstanding French interpreters. Thank you André, Wendy and team for an amazing work!
We also thank our ASL and LSQ teams for a great job.
Empowerment Tips
Takeaways from the Multi-Languages Conference "Board Break" activity.
  • Beliefs are a feeling or mindset of certainty about something we consider to be true
  • Beliefs come from our past experiences
  • There are two types of beliefs: empowering and disempowering
  • Empowering beliefs push us forward towards a desired result
  • Disempowering or limiting beliefs hold us back from obtaining a desired result
  • Our beliefs determine our behaviour
  • We have the power to change the story we have been telling ourselves and create a new empowering story
  • We are stronger than we think
  • The state (our physiology, what we focus on and the language we use) we are in affects our ability to achieve what we want in life
  • The quality of our lives is determined by the quality of emotions.
"We were meant to move forward. We were meant to be great. We tell ourselves a story of why we can't do something out of fear of not being able to do it. We tell ourselves a story of why we can't to allow ourselves to stay inside of our comfort zone. We have the choice to decide which story we will listen to. The voice of limitation that will hold us back or the voice of belief that will push us forward. The choice is ours." Juan Bendana
